There is another Venice, so different from the one laid out for tourists groups and postcards, that is the Venice I would like you to discover. Hidden corners, smelling history, small squares where you can experience the real life of Venice.

This Photo walk is a new way of discovering Venice and its unknown beauties. We will explore hidden “calli” (narrow streets of Venice), running along the houses where famous men, who made the history of this city, lived many centuries ago, one for all, Marco Polo. Many of these old buildings hold memories of legends, tales and historical events, and are amazingly still there, true and real, in spite of the centuries gone by.

Then we shall visit one of the most beautiful “campi” (squares in Venice), and the courtyard nearby. In the same area you will see, close to an ancient, peaceful yard, a surprisingly leaning bell tower, and you will find yourself in another world and in another time. Next, our Tour will take us to the old Arsenale, which was for centuries the largest shipyard in the world, and the witness of the naval and military power of the Serenissima. As silent guards, four imposing marble lions stand along the front entrance.

Not far from there, we are in “Castello”, one of the most popular and lively quarters of Venice. All along our walk, you will be surprised of the charming corners, the magic atmosphere you will discover everywhere.
